Depending on your venue, you may only have a small window to set up your wedding. Setting up your tables and decorating your venue takes a lot longer than you may first think. Being organised is the key to getting everything set up in a timely manner. Follow these 5 tips to ensure your wedding set up goes smoothly.
1. Pack everything into boxes and label them
Every table should have a box which contains all the décor and stationery for that table. Label each box so when you come to set up you don’t have to rummage through everything to find what you need. You may not be the person setting the tables, so this is a fool proof way to make sure everything ends up where you want it. It’s a good idea to do this for your gift and cake table too.
2. Order your name cards
Place your names cards in the order your guests will be sat at the table. This saves time during set up and gives the team setting up more time to double check them against your seating plan.
3. Remove the labels from your candle holders
Yes, you can still see them when they’re on the tables and removing them on the day eats into precious setting up time.

4. Steam your linen
Make sure you have enough time to steam your linen before you start setting your tables. Your photographer will not be able to edit out the creases.
5. Give yourself more time than you need
Set up will take longer than you think so give yourself as much time as possible. If you can, hire an on the day coordinator who will be able to do this for you. The last thing you want to be doing is rushing around setting tables on the morning of your wedding. You have more important things to be doing!
